Elliot Easton's Tangra

The Cars’ Elliot Easton takes it out of park with Kremona

 

While enjoying the success of a hit album-- Move Like This-- and tour, The Cars’ guitarist Elliot Easton recently drove a new Kremona Tangra off the lot.

 

“As a huge fan of Elliot’s work, I was thrilled to hear his interest in acquiring one of our models,” said Rich Shepherd, Brand Manager for Kremona USA.  “Elliot was looking for something rich and expressive, with a livelier voice than the usual classical. We promptly created a left-handed version of our Tangra model just for him.”

 

The Tangra features solid Indian silver oak back and sides, offset by a contrasting strip of rich cocobolo. Silver oak—also known as lacewood‐‐ is similar in weight and tone to rosewood, but has the visual pop of fine maple. With a solid German spruce top and lightweight Honduras cedar neck, the Tangra delivers a firm and punchy bass which resonates into the player’s body, shimmery trebles and a silky, musical midrange. The Tangra is further enhanced by rosewood binding, a multi‐ringed, hand‐inlaid wooden rosette and dark, violin bow‐quality ebony for the fingerboard and bridge.

 

Eliot remarked of his new Kremona, "I really love this guitar and appreciate the workmanship that has gone into it. I like clean, modern lines and I love the design of the Tangra, the wood rosette and the geometrical shapes used for the center back strip, etc. Very stylish stuff! Oh, and it sounds good too!" 

 

Elliot has plans to deploy the Tangra as he works on a forthcoming solo album with Elliot Easton's Tiki Gods.
