A solid word-of-mouth reputation is the highest form of recognition, which is why we were thrilled when Richard Johnson – co-owner of Gryphon Stringed Instruments—began doing business with us in 2007 on the recommendation of one of our key dealers in the Pacific Northwest.   Mr. Johnson has written many published articles and books on fine and vintage instruments, the history therein and the guitar experience at large. Regarded as an expert in the field of acoustic instruments, Richard has been invited to join the staff of musical instrument appraisers on the PBS series “Antiques Roadshow.”

Richard and co-owner Frank Ford started Gryphon Stringed Instruments in 1969 primarily as maker of fine guitars, mandolins and banjos. They opened a store front in 1973 and by the late ‘70s had established themselves as a premium purveyor of high-quality instruments, reliable instrument repair and music education.  With their exceedingly knowlegable staff of experts and amazing selection of fine instruments from a wide variety of makers, Gryphon Strings continues to offer a meaningful experience to the residents of the South Bay and beyond.  We’re proud and pleased to be represented by the fine folks at Gryphon Stringed Instruments.

During their Kremona Days event, Gryphon Strings helps us celebrate 90 years in the lutherie arts by offering complimentary microfiber polish clothes to customers dropping in to experience their wide selection of Kremona guitars, including hand-selected examples from our Artist, Performer, Flamenco, Crossover and Soloist Series.  RC Strings and logo backpacks will be given away to those taking home Kremona guitars during their Kremona Days week. The folks at Gryphon Stringed Instruments have been key to the growth of our brand on the North American continent. We thank them for their support!
